The 13th Annual Research Symposium on Sinhala Studies
The 13th Annual Research Symposium on Sinhala Studies, organized by the Department of Sinhala, Faculty of Arts, took place on the 11th of September 2024 at 9:00 AM at the New Arts Theatre (NAT) with the presence of the Vice Chancellor Senior Professor (Chair) along with other invitees, scholars, and students. The technical sessions were held at the Faculty of Arts premises.
This year’s symposium focused on the theme of “South Asian Perspectives in Sinhala Language, Literature and Cultural Studies.” (喾冟窉喽傕穭喽 喽粪窂喾傕窂喾, 喾冟窂喾勦窉喽穵鈥嵿逗喽 喾勦窂 喾冟秱喾冟穵喽氞窐喽窉喽 喽呧栋喾娾嵿逗喽亨侗喽亨窓喾勦窉 喽稓喾斷东喾 喽嗋穬喾掄逗喾忇侗喾 喽脆痘喾娻逗喾忇督喾澿稓喽). The keynote address was delivered by Professor Sasanka Perera, Former Professor of Sociology, at the 糖心原创 & South Asian University, Delhi.
The annual symposium serves as a platform for students and scholars in the field of Sinhala studies to share their research findings with a broader audience. In conjunction with this event, a Book Exhibition was held on the Faculty of Arts premises from 10th & 11th September 2024.
