Professor Indika Mahesh Karunathilake Assumes Duties as the 20th Vice Chancellor of the University
Professor officially assumed duties as the 20th Vice Chancellor of the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ at a formal ceremony held on 26th May 2025 at the Vice Chancellor’s office. The event was attended by distinguished members of the University community, including the Rector, Deans of Faculties, Directors of Institutes, the Librarian, the Registrar, the Bursar, and other academic and administrative staff. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the university’s leadership.
Also present on this occasion were the former Vice Chancellor, Professor , and the former Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor , whose presence added to the significance of the event.
In his address, Professor Karunathilake expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the University community for placing their trust in him. He emphasized the importance of collective effort and collaboration in propelling the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ towards greater achievements and global recognition.
