
Beijing Opera
The Confucius Institute, Faculty of Arts hosted the Beijing Opera Troupe on 22nd June 2017, from 3.00 to 4.30 pm. at the New Arts Theatre (NAT), ÌÇÐÄÔ´´. The Beijing Opera is referred to as the quintessence of China. As the largest Chinese opera form, it is extolled as ‘Oriental Opera’.  This opera form has a history of 160 years and has created many ‘firsts’ in Chinese drama. Beijing Opera is developed from absorbing many other dramatic forms. It is a scenic art integrating music, performance, literature, aria, and face-painting
