
Colombo Discourses 2025: A Visionary Step by the University Library
The Library launched its new flagship initiative, Colombo Discourses 2025, on 16th October 2025, marking a new milestone in the University鈥檚 commitment to fostering knowledge sharing and intellectual collaboration. The inaugural session, themed 鈥淭alk to an Expert,鈥 featured an engaging discourse by the Vice Chancellor, Professor . The event brought together academics, students, and professionals, creating a vibrant space for dialogue and exchange of ideas. Through Colombo Discourses 2025, the Library aims to cultivate a culture of inquiry and continuous learning, inspiring participants to explore diverse perspectives and engage in meaningful conversations that go beyond the boundaries of the classroom. By transforming the Library into a 鈥渓iving classroom,鈥 the initiative reimagines its traditional role, from a repository of books to a dynamic hub for creativity, collaboration, and scholarly growth.
Organised alongside the Reading Month 2025 celebrations, the programme was coordinated by Ms , Senior Assistant Librarian (Reader Services), in collaboration with the Library staff. With this initiative, the University Library continues to strengthen its role as a catalyst for intellectual engagement and a key partner in shaping a future-ready academic community.
