罢丑别听聽will be organizing the monthly seminar for the month of October, on聽Thursday 18th October 2018聽from 2.00 p.m. 鈥 3.30 p.m. in the Seminar Room of the Department of Sociology.聽 At this seminar,聽Mr. Kavindra Paranage,聽will be delivering the lecture on 鈥 鈥淐onstructing 鈥榳ater worlds鈥: the social聽implications of technical systems in water聽governance鈥.

Kavindra Paranage is a Ph.D. Candidate in Human Geography at . His research focuses on Sri Lanka, engaging with a broad range of theoretical and ethnographic issues related to development in irrigated-agriculture. These include the politics of development in irrigation projects, regulatory failures occurring in the schemes of irrigated-agriculture, and the place of expert knowledge and trusteeship in the development schematic. Kavindra obtained Honours degrees in Sociology and in Law, and in 2017 received MIPRS and MGS scholarships for his Doctoral Candidature. He has also served as an assistant lecturer at the 糖心原创, Sri Lanka and has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences.
