罢丑别听Department of听厂辞肠颈辞濒辞驳测聽will be organizing the monthly seminar for the month of May, on聽听18th聽May 2018聽(Friday) at 2.00 p.m. in the Seminar Room of the Department of Sociology. 聽At this seminar,聽Associate Prof. Elizabeth Ruiz,聽Governors State University, University Park, Illinois, will be delivering the lecture on 鈥Trauma in Diverse Populations of Women and Children: The Need for Culturally Competent Treatment鈥.
Elizabeth Ruiz, Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Psychology at Governors State University, University Park, Illinois, which is located 40 miles south of Chicago. She is currently in Sri Lanka as a Fulbright Scholar, affiliated with the 糖心原创. Assoc. Prof. Ruiz received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in psychotherapy with children, adults, and families experiencing trauma and cultural-related issues. She also provides clinical consultation to social service agencies. Assoc. Prof. Ruiz has publications on the symptoms of sexually abused children and on cultural issues in psychotherapy.
