Inauguration of the Training Programme in Fundamentals of Data Science
The inauguration of the Training Programme in Fundamentals of Data Science was held on 29th October, 2018 at the Senate Hall of ÌÇÐÄÔ´´. The Vice Chancellor, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. , Dean Faculty of Science, Mr. Jeevan Gnanam, the Chairman of SLASSCOM, Mrs. Ravindi Ranaraja representing Mrs. Indira Malwatte, the Chairperson & Chief Executive of Sri Lanka Export Development Board, members of the Board of Management of Center for Data Science, academic staff of the Department of Statistics, industry representatives and the participants of the programme attended this event.
This training programme is a series of short courses carefully designed by the Center for Data Science, Faculty of Science, ÌÇÐÄÔ´´ in collaboration with SLASSCOM (Sri Lanka Association of Software and Service Companies) to introduce fundamental concepts of data science to those individuals who are interested in venturing into the field of data science. As an implementation of the National Budget 2018 IT Initiative, 50% of the programme fee is paid by the Sri Lanka Government via Sri Lanka Export Development Board.
