Message from the Chancellor

I take great pleasure extending my heartiest congratulations to all the graduands on their remarkable achievement. It is the culmination of years of labour, dedication, and perseverance. You are achieving a greater height in your journey with a postgraduate degree from the oldest and the highest-ranked university in Sri Lanka.
Load Buddha says “never stop learning because life never stops teaching” our life is full of challenges however education is path of the win. An individual gets a chance of learning, one which he learns from others, and the other, which he acquires from an Educational Institute, i.e. University. Even though I have not officially graduated from a university, years of experience and hard work for the nation as a Buddhist monk has given me wisdom that one cannot achieve easily. That is the life of a Bhikku and I wish to remind you as a part of the society you, graduands, also have a duty to play a responsible role for our motherland.
As the Chancellor of the University, it is my pleasure to applaud and wish all the graduands for your great achievement. Your academic achievements have a great responsibility towards building a better tomorrow for Sri Lanka. Finally, I wish you all the best and trust you have the capacity and capability as the graduands to take this nation to greater heights.

Message from the Vice Chancellor

I pen this message with immense pleasure to share my thoughts on the occasion of the Postgraduate Convocation 2021 of the ����ԭ��.
Congratulations on reaching this wonderful milestone!
I extend my warmest compliments to all the awardees in achieving your degrees and higher diplomas from your esteemed study programmes. It is indeed a big day for students of the ����ԭ�� as every student enrolled in a university wait for the day of graduation – the day of convocation, the flagship ceremonial event of the University. This day comes after a long interval for each student but for the University, it has remained an annual event. It is on this day, the University looks back to measure its achievement, while this day marks the beginning of a new journey for the students. The University feels proud witnessing the smiling faces of its graduates coming out with ceremonial gowns and being graduated on this momentous occasion. I am sure your learning experience has been the most fulfilling and satisfying. Without a doubt, it is an honour to receive a globally recognised degree from the number 1 university in Sri Lanka. I am proud and thankful of the untiring efforts and the continuing support and the commitment of our highly qualified staff in producing globally acceptable graduates and good citizens.
Graduation should never mean goodbye. As an alumnus, I sincerely hope you will remain connected in some way to the university. As it will always be a place of interaction among extraordinary and diverse people.
I wish you every success. The world needs progressive, responsible and compassionate graduates like you. And I am certain you will continue to make us proud.
