Pranajeewa 2013

Pranajeewa 2013

With the set target number of 200 donors being met, it can be said that the annual blood donation campaign was a success.  ‘Pranajeewa 2013’ was organized by the first-year students of the Faculty of Science, ÌÇÐÄÔ´´, in collaboration with the Blood Transfusion Unit of the National Cancer Hospital of Maharagama. The blood donation campaign took place at the Biology Lecture Theatre (BLT2/BLT3) on the 25th of November between 9 am and 4 pm. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Senior Student Counsellor of the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Chief Marshall Officer and Heads of Department, were present to grace the occasion. There were a total of 14 crew members, including 2 doctors and 1 public health inspector. Everyone who donated blood said that they were pleased with themselves for being able to contribute to such a noble cause. They said that knowing they’d made a difference was good enough a reward for them. Those who just couldn’t meet the requirements felt quite disappointed and said they were determined to donate blood the following year. All in all, the campaign was a great success.
