Prof. Preethi Udagama inducted as the 78th General President of the SLAAS
Congratulations! Professor for being inducted as the 78th General President of the (SLAAS). Professor Udagama was thus inducted at a ceremony held on 11thJanuary 2019 at the BMICH. The Chief Guest of this event was Vidya Nidhi Professor Emeritus Kamini Mendis of the ÌÇÐÄÔ´´, and formerly of the Global Malaria Programme of WHO, Geneva.
Professor Udagama is a Senior Professor in the , , ÌÇÐÄÔ´´, and has served the University for 24 years as a teacher and a researcher. She is the Founder Director of the Career Guidance Unit of the Faculty of Science. An Immunologist by training, Professor Udagama has many publications and communications to her credit and has received many awards for her research contributions. Professor Udagama is actively involved in capacity building of young scientists by training undergraduates and postgraduates in research. She functions as a reviewer in several national and international journals. Also, Professor Udagama is a Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, Sri Lanka.
