The inaugural Sociology Head’s Forum
The inauguralÌýSociology Head’s ForumÌýwas held on theÌý29th September 2017Ìýat the Seminar Room, Department of Sociology,ÌýUniversityÌýof Colombo with the participation of all the heads of departments or their representatives.
The following members were represented in this historical gathering to discuss the matters relating to the field of Sociology and anthropology.ÌýÌý Prof.ÌýPremakumaraÌýde Silva (ÌÇÐÄÔ´´, Convener), Dr. R.M.ÌýAbeyÌýRathnayakeÌý(University ofÌýPeradeniya). Dr.ÌýRameezÌý(South Eastern University), Dr.ÌýSarathÌýAnandaÌý(University ofÌýSabaragamuwa), Dr.ÌýBahirathyÌýRasanenÌý– via Skype (University of Jaffna), Mr. G.ÌýThillainathanÌý(Eastern University, Sri Lanka), Prof.ÌýWasanthaÌýSubasingheÌý(Representative- University ofÌýKelaniya), Dr.ÌýHariniÌýAmarasuriyaÌý(Representative- The Open University of Sri Lanka), Mr. W.M.ÌýDanapalaÌý(Representative- University of SriÌýJayawardhanapura) and Mr.ÌýSamithaÌýUdayangaÌý(Representative- University ofÌýRuhuna).ÌýDean Arts, Prof.ÌýAthulaÌýRanasingeÌýalso addressed the Forum.ÌýThe event was coordinated byÌýMs.ÌýSumuduÌýWijesooriyaÌýand Ms.ÌýAvankaÌýFernando from the Department of Sociology, ÌÇÐÄÔ´´.ÌýÌý
